( Perhaps that's why v3.3 works on one of my Windows XP machines at home( haven't tried it on the other ). ![]() The machine I'm referring to is in a corporate environment and does utilise redirected folders, so perhaps the corrupted profile is buried deep within the bowels of my user profile wherever it is housed on the server. ![]() Other than re-imaging the machine (a tempting notion at this point), does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get OpenOffice running once again?īill, very good point that post is raising about roaming profiles and redirection environments. Normally, I've been able to solve any problem or question I have had through the OOo Community Forum, but on this one, I am genuinely stuck. Reinstalled, yet still encounter the same error message when launching OpenOffice. On top of that, I cleaned my registry using CCleaner and Glary Utilities. After uninstalling OpenOffice, I searched for the string throughout my "C:\" drive, but nothing was found, so I'm convinced everything was removed. Plus, I can't find where the profile is using the Tools>Options>Paths selection because I can't even get OpenOffice to launch. The problem is, the profile simply doesn't exist in the location identified as "Before Vista" ( or anywhere else for that matter ). The solution was to rename the profile to. Now wait.before you say this has been covered elsewhere.I realise that and I've been there ( The OOo user profile ). ![]() When I launched OpenOffice after the upgrade, I received an error saying, "The application cannot be started caught unexpected exception!". Then yesterday, I responded to the familiar upgrade prompt from within OpenOffice to upgrade from v3.2 to the released edition of v3.3 ( definitely not with an "RC" in front of the version number ). I have been using OpenOffice for about one year ( so I'm guessing that still qualifies me a beginner ) and have upgraded from one version to the next ( including betas ) throughout that time without any trouble and all the while on this same PC ( running Windows XP3 ).
